Future of work- Creativity, Strategy and Decision Making ?
We cannot imagine a world or society without human work. Human work will continue to be there. But….
In the era of Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain and Robotics are we evaluating our current work with regard to our role in future. Are we reinventing and upgrading ourselves about new technologies? Whether these technologies will bring mass unemployment or it will create more jobs? Can we continue to do same work in a same pattern as we have been doing from last many years?
Many of us are thinking about the aforesaid questions as world is changing with the inception and adoption of technologies which are reducing the involvement of human efforts and intellectual at workplace.
Most of us are facing disruptive times at work.Things are changing very quickly. Are we keeping ourselves relevant in these disruptive times? In the era of artificial intelligence, blockchain and machine learning, evaluating the future of work is utmost important. If technology is not going to replace jobs it will definitely going to reduce our roles. One survey revealed that 40% of the legal and accounting job will replaced in next 10 years with the use of AI and blockchain.
I am not here to spread any fear towards technology and future of work. The fundamental point is that are upgrading ourselves towards future requirement and challenges. The work will not be a routine work, it will be full of imaginary, strategic and decision making. Leaders key role would be to save the time of workers or staff as much as possible by strategic and innovative thinking. AI and robotics may create more jobs if we carefully implement these technologies towards more innovation rather than reducing the human intellectual. The need of the hour is that we should not think about job and career, we should think about facing future challenges and solving the problems that will make us more relevant and adaptive towards automation.
In the era of self driving cars, we can imagine lot more things. There are two views on the future of work, there are futurist who predicted that there will be mass unemployment due to implementation of AI and robotics. While there are futurist who are optimistic and predicted that AI will create more jobs. Humans are only creators of these technologies and it will definitely impacting humans. Predicting the future and upgrading the skills are the need of the hour for professionals and which I believe is the optimistic view about the future of work. Further ‘purpose’ will serve most important role. No organisation and worker or staff would survive without having any concrete purpose. Purpose will create more passion and brings creativity. There would be many people who risk entrepreneurship as there the purpose would be much bigger as compared to life as an employee.
We need to keep reinventing ourselves about future of work, our interest and our skills. If humans will be responsible for replacing our work with technology, humans can only think responsible and create new opportunities.
